OVERVIEW
The intrinsic value of dance is the development of creative, imaginative, physical, emotional and intellectual capacities, it provides balance amongst the varied teaching and learning styles of other subjects. Students of dance become well rounded individuals who can communicate their ideas clearly to others, have confidence to try something new, are creative and willing to offer ideas as well as being physical healthy with the ability to critique and guide others fairly and kindly.
Dance at Wellington has led to degree level training at prestigious performance schools and facilities, including vocational dance conservatoires such as London Contemporary Dance School, London Studio Centre and Rambert Dance School. The study of dance in sixth form has also enabled successful scholarship awards to top US universities, as well as launching professional performance careers. Studying dance alongside other subjects has enabled students to continue their educational journey at leading UK universities including Oxford, Queen Mary University of London, Durham, Exeter and Loughborough to name a few.
